All of this is happening without any public commentary or design review. The current laws in Seattle allow these apodment/micro-studio buildings to go up without allowing the neighbors any opportunity to comment or take issue with them. The Seattle Comprehensive Plan for Ballard calls for "A community with housing types that range from single family to moderate density multifamily." This is not moderate density. This is as high density as it gets without becoming a coffin motel.
According to the Mayor, the city council is currently reviewing the rules that allow these apodments to pop up without any review. Make yourself heard and let them know that these need proper review.
